1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LOKL, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and LOKL Technologies, a company registered in Ireland. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use LOKL. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 16 years of age or older. If you are under 16, you may not use the service.

3. Use of Service

LOKL provides a platform for local communities to share events, posts, and directory information. You may use our service for lawful purposes only.

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use the service for spam or advertising without consent
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent a ban or suspension

Users who violate these terms may be banned from the platform based on their verified phone number.

4. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate and complete information
• Updating your information as needed

Phone verification is required to create content (events, posts, directory listings, pages, and facilities). A verified phone number helps us maintain a safe and trustworthy community.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post on LOKL. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within our service.

You are solely responsible for your content and must ensure it:

• Does not violate any laws
• Does not infringe on others' rights
• Is accurate and not misleading
• Is appropriate for the community

6. Pages and Content Creation

Users may create Pages to represent organizations, businesses, or communities. Page owners are responsible for:

• The accuracy of their page information
• All content posted through their page
• Responding to user inquiries appropriately
• Complying with local business regulations

7. Bookings and Phone Number Sharing

When you book a facility or event through LOKL, your name and phone number are shared with the service provider (facility or event owner) so they can manage your booking and contact you if needed. By making a booking, you consent to this information sharing.

8. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited:

• Illegal content or activities
• Hate speech or discrimination
• Violence or threats
• Pornographic or sexually explicit material
• Personal information of others without consent
• Spam or unsolicited advertising
• Malware or harmful code

9. Child Safety

LOKL has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) content. The following are strictly prohibited on our platform:

• Any content that sexually exploits or endangers children
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
• Grooming or solicitation of minors
• Any content that sexualises minors
• Sharing or distribution of imagery depicting child abuse

Any such content will be immediately removed and reported to the relevant authorities, including Hotline.ie (Ireland) and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). User accounts involved will be permanently banned.

If you encounter any content on LOKL that you believe violates this policy, please report it immediately to hello@lokl.co.

10. Intellectual Property

The LOKL service, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

12. Disclaimers

LOKL is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content posted by users. We are not responsible for user-generated content or interactions between users.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LOKL Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify users of significant changes via a push notification or in-app notice.
